    Robert H. Stucky

B.A., M.Div. Yale University, M.Anglican Studies, Berkeley Divinity School at Yale; Episcopal Priest from 1986-2002. Studied and lived with Swami Muktananda Paramahamsa 1973-1982.

An educator, translator, artist, and spiritual director, he has taught Studio Art, Religion, Ancient World History and Spanish, and lectured and lead workshops in the U.S., India, Australia and Latin America on Contemplative Practices. Former Adjunct Faculty Member University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and Goucher College. Designed and taught interdisciplinary seminars in comparative religion and culture. One of five recipients nationwide of award for preaching excellence, 1993.



Chris Smith

Chris is an artist, designer, and filmmaker currently living in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a recent Summa Cum Laude and Honors Certificate graduate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and was the recipient of both the Linehan Artist Scholarship and the Provost's Undergraduate Research Award during his studies there. He currently works both as an educational program coordinator for the Baltimore Museum of Industry and as a founding partner of Vastu Media, an independent media production company. He was also recently selected for the Fulbright Grant, but has respectfully declined in order to pursue his film work in Baltimore with Vastu Media and FID.


Brandon Lichtenwalner

Brandon Lichtenwalner is a graduate of the Honors College at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and a recipient of the President's Scholars scholarship. He received his BA in Philosophy with a minor in Religious Studies and has also studied Computer Science while attending the university. In addition to his duties as treasurer, he is also the administrator of the FID Web Forums.


Muzaffar Shaikh
Development Officer

Former Deputy Director of Technology for the State of Maryland, now technology consultant in a private firm. Active in Islamic education and interfaith bridge-building in the Maryland area. Member and Program Director of the Islamic Society of Baltimore. Pakistani-born American.


Anupam Raychaudhuri

B.A., Political Science and Economics, Case Western Reserve University; JD Candidate, Case Western Reserve University School of Law; MBA Candidate, American University.

Principal, Bloomsbury Consulting Group. Former experiences include positions as health care consultant, law clerk, and grassroots lobbyist. Fluent in Bengali, proficient in Spanish. Boston-born Bengali-American.



Jay Perry

B.A., University of Maryland, Baltimore County. A media artist, filmmaker, and writer, Jay's work often considers relationships between mythological and socio-political systems, and language as an interface between individual and communal experience. Recent work includes Book of the Dead: Impermanence, Blight, and Renewal in Greater Baltimore, a two-channel video installation exploring time, consciousness, and urban space in the context of Baltimore's vacant housing.

Neil Douglas-Klotz

PhD.; Co-director, Edinburgh Institute for Advanced Learning, Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K.. -an interdisciplinary research institute focusing on the boundaries of psychology, religious studies and culture; Co-Chair, Steering Committee, Mysticism Group, American Academy of Religion, November 1998. Jewish-born, Christian-raised Sufi Murshid; biblical scholar, author and teacher on Middle Eastern Spirituality. Author of The Hidden Gospel, Prayers of the Cosmos, and Desert Wisdom: The Native Middle Eastern Tradition from the Goddess to the Sufis.


Rabbi Alon Goshen-Gottstein

Rabbi Alon Gershon-Gottstein and the Elijah School, in conjunction with other organizations,such as the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, host numerous interfaith conferences on issues of religious leadership in society. Urging the application to public life of true wisdom rather than institutionally relgigious partisanship, of particular focus and import at present is the role of religious leaders in discouraging terrorism and promoting compassionate action for all. Alon recently presided over a conference in Jerusalem in which the former President of Indonesia and chairman of the largest muslim group in that country signed a document with the former Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel condemning terrorism as a violation of the basic tenets of any legitimate religious practice.

Eliyahu McClean

Director of Peace Community, Middle East, a peace coalition promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding in Israel. Holds prayer vigils every Friday on the Temple Mount outside the entrance to El Aksa Mosque, and supports numerous communal, interfaith peace building and educational activities throughout Israel.
